About the Artist
James Dawe is a contemporary artist and illustrator based in London. Using photo-collage techniques he takes images from a variety of sources, threading them together to create unexpected juxtapositions of line and color. Dawe transforms classic still life images - reminiscent of master paintings from the Dutch Golden age - into vibrant, contemporary art works using subtle digital manipulations.
Collectable and unique, James Dawe has worked for and collaborated with a broad array of companies including The Guardian, M&C Saatchi, Bloomsbury Publishing, Mercury record label, Dazed & Confused, Vice, and Wallpaper* Magazine. Alongside this James Dawe has been exhibited at Selfridges Museum of Small Things, Rook and Raven Gallery, Soho: Terry O’neill Reworked & Interface shows and at T.E.A.M at Kemirsty Gallery.
