About The Artist
The engrossing, crisp photography of Matthias Heiderich captures the detail of his subjects to such a degree it gives them an almost hyper real quality. He photographs of architectural compositions are sometimes nearly abstract, and, devoid of any human presence, are accentuated by vibrant contrasting colour and an ethereal light that recalls either hot sunny days or nuclear glare. They balance between seeming utopian and foreboding.
